The first phase of the project involved constructing a subsurface facility for the client, including a large leach plant designed to wash out a salt dome and create caverns using high-pressure pumps. The scope included distribution piping to five well sites, with pipe sizes ranging from 16” to 20”. The electrical and instrumentation (E&I) portion encompassed a large MCC building, control room, and all necessary E&I activities to power and control the leaching process.
The second phase focused on the topsides, or permanent process facilities, for transferring to and from the storage caverns. This included piping, pumps, manifolds, pipe racks, and civil activities such as concrete and dirt work, as well as firewater and other infrastructure facilities. The E&I portion for this phase included two MCC buildings, a control room, an emergency generator, and a cable tray system encompassing the entire facility. The project was schedule-driven and successfully completed on time.
